Ingredients
  • 1 cup masoor dal
  • 1 spoon ghee
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 7-8 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1/2 tbs mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tbs tumeric powder
  • 1/4 tbs asafoetida
  • 2 tsp grated coconut
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 5-6 kokam
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tbs cumin seeds
  • 2 spoons corriander
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. In a pressure cooker, pour in water and add the dal and let it cook.
  2. In a heated pan, add in ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, turmeric, hing, mix masala, coconut, corriander and mix well.
  3. Add in tomato, onion, kokum, ginger, garlic and cook on a high flame.
  4. Put the boiled dal in the masala and cook together.
  5. Put salt, corriander, water and let it cook.
  6. Serve hot.
