  • 1cup masoor dal
  • I onion finely chopped
  • 1 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 dry chilies
  • 1 tablespoon ginger julienne
  • 3 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Hing
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander fresh
  • 2 cup water
Instructions
  1. In the cooker add masoor dal, chopped onion, chopped tomato, grated ginger and garlic, salt, turmeric powder, water and mix them together.
  2. Cook them at least for 3 whistles.
  3. For Tempering: – To the small pan add ghee, cumin seeds, chopped ginger, garlic pods, curry leaves, dry red chili, asafoetida and mix them together for 1 minute.
  4. Masoor dal tadka is ready to serve with hot steamed rice.
