Bhuna Gosht is a traditional Indian recipe made with lamb. It consists of pan fried meat with spices. The meat cooks in its own juices, which is what gives the deep flavour.

Ingredients
  • 1kg mutton
  • 1kg onions, chopped
  • 4 tbsp of mustard oil
  • 2 tsp of red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp of garam masala
  • Salt as per taste
  • 4 tbsp of garlic-ginger paste
  • 10-12 green cardamoms
  • 10-15 cloves
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3-4 black cardamom
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 2 tsp of dhaniya powder (coriander powder)
  • 2 tsp of jeera powder (cumin seed powder)
  • ½ kg of tomatoes, pureed
  • 200g of fresh yogurts
  • Few coriander leaves, chopped
Instructions
  1. In a heated pan, add in oil along with all the whole spices and chopped onion. Mix and let it cook.
  2. Add in the meat along with the ginger & garlic paste and mix again.
  3. Pour in the tomato puree and let this cook for a while.
  4. Add in the powdered spices and salt and mix well.
  5. Garnish and serve.
